
Basketball tonight verses Brady: JV Boys Basketball starts tonight at 4pm - Varsity Girls at 5pm - Wrestling parents night will take place between the end of the Varsity Girls ending and beginning of warm ups for Varsity boys. 2024 Stapleton Spelling Bee
The 2024 Stapleton School Spelling Bee was held today, Jan 31st, in the High School Gym. Two students from each class in Grades 1-8 competed in the Spelling Bee. In each round, students were given and word that they were to spell in the contest. The top two students in the School Spelling Bee then completed for the title of Logan County Spelling Bee Champion and qualified to compete in the State Spelling Bee in Omaha on March 9th.

The Logan County Spelling Bee Champion was Dylan Heinemann and the Runner Up was Abi Torrez.
The Championship Word was "referee".

Parents and students in grades 4 - 12 sign up for PowerSchool. This will allow you to be aware of your students' grades daily. Your child can also sign up for PowerSchool so they know their grades and if they are missing any assignments. On January 26th the preschool class shared muffins with mom. The students helped make the muffins, made bath salts for their moms and filled out a survey all about their mom. Ms. Syd, Ms. Denise and Ms. Heather were busy assisting the students in all of their creations. The students and moms had a great time and ate yummy treats!

ACTIVITY VAN: There will be no activity van tomorrow, Thursday - Jan 25 or Friday, Jan 26.

LATE START & FRIDAY DISMISSALS: On Fridays moving forward, we will have a 3:35 dismissal when we have a late start. In other words, we will not have a 3:02 dismissal on Fridays when we have a late start.

ATTENTION: Thu Feb 1 BB home game vs Brady has been moved to a 4pm JV Boys start. Var Girls will play at 5pm with Var Boys to follow. In between Var Girls and Var Boys games we will honor our Wrestlers and their parents for Winter Sports Parent night. BB Parents night is Feb 9 vs Perkins Co.

The NHS students spent a little time down at the community center this morning, helping to clean, sort, and organize items for this weekend's Pop Up Thrift Shop. There are some interesting things for sale! Bargains galore.
After you hunt for treasures this Saturday, be sure to check out the Carnival out at the Fair Building. Both of these events benefit the Splash Pad fundraising efforts.
There is also elementary basketball at the school on Saturday morning. Come cheer on our mini ballers!

Ten Stapleton Elementary Students participated in the 2024 Sing Around Nebraska Honor Choir sponsored by the Nebraska Choral Directors Association, at North Platte High School. There were 150 student from 12 schools around North Platte that performed under the direction of Marcia Dalton, retired director from Perkins County High School.
The students spent the day rehearsing five songs together and presented a concert to about 500 parents and family members.
The Stapleton Music Department is very proud of our students that participated in the Honor Choir this year. Students singing the solo were: Ofelia Tello, Lucy Joedeman, and Joei Stewart.
