Two students received. their RARE awards today. They both use their time wisely in class . The 3rd grade student follows directions well. The kindergarten student is responsible, reads at home, turns is work and does his best.
I wanted to share some pictures with you from the Hershey and South Loup Jr. High wrestling tournaments. The athletes have learned a lot this year and shown growth. What an amazing day. We had 5 students earn RARE Awards. One student was a first grade student and this is his 4th RARE award. It was for Empathy for helping his classmate catch up with his work. The other four were all 4th grade students. Mrs. Frey gave two of the awards. The first was to a young man who got his award for all four RARE areas. She said he was patient and kind. The second award from Mrs. Frey was to a young lady for being Empathetic. She is kind toward others. The last two award were given by Mrs Dailey. The first was for a young man who cleaned up his area at lunch then went over and cleaned the first grade area. The second award from Mrs. Dailey was to a young man who helped a kindergarten student pick up something off the floor then helped another kindergarten student find his silverware in the trash can. This is a long post but when you have the amazing students that we do at Stapleton you want everyone to know! Have a great weekend.
A group of students attended a Transition to College event at McCook Community College today. They learned about some of the differences between high school and college, what college life can be like, they enjoyed a tour of the campus, met current students, and were able to explore various academic programs.
Yesterday, a group of seniors spent the day on the north campus of MPCC, taking part in the Applied Tech Day. The students were able to attend a career fair and tour the tech programs available at MPCC. Fields such as HVAC, Diesel Mechanics, Autobody, Electrical, and Building and Construction were all represented. The students gained some valuable career information, chatted with current teachers and students within the programs, and even jumped into some hands-on opportunities.

Third grade is learning all about our community's history. Last week Marcia and Kendra at Creative Printers shared the history with the class. Marcia took us on a walk down Main Street and then we stopped in Creative Printers to take a look at historical articles and photographs. The class loved it! Thank you to Marcia & Kendra for taking time out your day to teach us!
There were six young men and ladies from the 6th grade that stayed after the assembly to clean up and put up chairs. The six of them earned RARE awards for being empathetic to the adults that were there to clean up the gym and to help out the older students who were also helping clear the gym. They worked hard and we had the gym cleared in 20 minutes. They were amazing.
I would like to give a shout out to all the junior high and high school students who stayed after the assembly and helped put up chairs and tarps. We had the gym back to normal in 20 minutes. I was very impressed with these young men and ladies.

This past summer electrical drops were added to the business lab. This eliminated having computers plugged into floor outlets where they were frequently kicked and operating computers would be unplugged. The drops have allowed for a much more organized working environment for the students.
