This young lady is our first RARE award earner of the week. She earned this award for being Empathetic. She helped another student organize his notebook and encouraged him to put his papers in his notebook when they are given to him so it remains neat. It is so nice to see the students help each other.
We had a RARE award last week that did not get posted. This young man is very responsible and does his homework and classwork. He is also nice to his peers. Congratulations!

FYI for those of you going to the game in Arcadia tonight:
Phyical science students are learning about velocity, acceleration, and forces. Yesterday we took a moment to better understand the constant force of friction and how it effects acceleration or velocity. Students tested multiple surfaces and the amont of force influenced by these surfaces.
Biology students are entering the world of the very small. Today students worked to move through several cell satations: microscope identification of plant and animal cells, identification of organells using models, understanding mitochondrial disorders, and creating their own story about a cell as if it were a city.

FYI - Next Thursday Oct 17th will be Parents Night for Football in Tryon at the conclusion of the game vs. Pleasanton in order to allow for volleyball parents to make it back from Conference games in Merna.

One more Rare award today. This award is this young man's 3rd award. He is doing an amazing job this year. He earned it for being empathetic. He helped a classmate after he fell down playing soccer. He checked on the soccer player and helped him up. What a kind young man.
I handed out a RARE award at lunch today. Another adult observed this young man in the lunch line. Another student pushed his way in front of him. He was angry but he kept his cool and did not retaliate. That took a lot of self-control and responsibility. When I was told about this incident, I was very impressed.
JH Volleyball Monday Oct 14th in Arthur. 3:00 pm CST start time (2:00 pm MST) - We will start with an "A" game followed by a "B" game.

Parents night for VB and XC at Stapleton next Tuesday Oct 15th during volleyball vs Maxwell. Parents will be honored at the end of the JV match (Approximately 5:45pm). See flyers for details.
Stapleton Public Schools and the Sandhills Valley Mavericks Sports Cooperative is seeking coaches for JH winter sports.
JH wrestling is a short 6 week season - meets only during the month of November.
JH Basketball (Boys) is also open. Practices are during the school day from 1:45-3:30pm M-TH.

We have another student with RARE Character. She is always respectful and kind to everyone around her. She also has a smile that lights up the room. She is very respectful!
We are starting the week off with a student earning a RARE award. This young man is quick to notice when someone needs help and helps them without being asked. He is very empathetic! What a great trait to have!
