Lincoln County Museum

Stapleton patrons and area residents. I would like to pass along the following information, which I think you all will be very interested in. I recently received the following from Mr. Bill McGahan. "I am now 13 years RETIRED -- was supt/principal/teacher at North Platte Catholic Schools for 45 years. In retirement one of the "fun" volunteer things I have been doing is at the Lincoln County Museum. Five years ago Don Milroy, long-time owner of Brown-Harano Photography in North Platte retired and donated eighty plus years of negatives and photos to the museum. I have invested many hundreds of hours the past five years to the photos, initially sorting and numbering the 110,000 plus envelopes into an organized "MESS" and then creating an Excel file of the results so that envelopes could be claimed by people pictured therein. We have been getting those photos to people as best we can, in exchange for donations (over $60,000) to the Museum that actually kept us going during the COVID shut down. You can find those lists, which may not mean much to you but MIGHT to families in your community, at the web site listed below. We would be grateful if you would share this site with your school community.  https://lincolncountymuseum.org/brown-harano-photographs1/

IF your folks had senior pictures or family photos taken at Brown Harano they are likely on this list. Photos can be claimed by contacting the Museum with box, envelope and name information from the website lists. We have had people find as many as FIVE generations of family within the collection.
