Good evening Stapleton Community,
We want our school and our school events to be a welcoming place for all members of our community - and to those of the communities who visit us for competitions and other activities.
In order to provide the care and attention that the events require we ask that you please make sure our younger student population are being properly supervised by an adult or guardian.
It is extremely difficult as Athletic Director and supervisor of events to monitor children who may arrive unaccompanied by an adult or guardian. There have been numerous instances already where I have had to tell students to leave areas that are clearly blocked off by barriers or signs asking patrons of the school to stay out.
Students are running around the lobby and common areas where visitors are trying to eat, watch the event or activity, and are being run into without apology or remorse.
Again, I stress that we want everyone to come and be a part of the special things we are doing here, but in order to do so we need the cooperation of all to keep it a safe and inviting space.
The inside of our school building is not a playground.
If members of the public (regardless of age) cannot use the space as it is intended we will ask you to leave for the remainder of the event. If it is a young student or child that is unsupervised we will ask them to call home and have a parent or guardian pick them up.
I greatly appreciate your assistance with regards to this matter. If I can be of any future help or if you have questions or concerns please feel free to contact me at the school or through my email.
Respectfully,
Jeremiah Johnson
Secondary Principal/Athletic Director
